Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs stopped by to speak with N12LI’s Shari Einhorn about the major election issues. The rain certainly plays a factor in turnout, and the chairman said all the troops are on the streets now getting out the vote. He was also apologetic about the “annoying” phone calls, but stressed their necessity.
Jacobs said the loss of Legis. Lisanne Altmann in District 10 is regrettable, as he considers her a friend, but he expressed his confidence in Judi Bosworth’s ability as a legislator.
As for Legis. Judy Jacobs’s (D-Woodbury) place as presiding officer and majority leader, Jay Jacobs wouldn’t commit. He said they first need to win the election. The braintrust plans to meet tomorrow/Wednesday to discuss the matter — he wouldn’t say which way he’s leaning.
To the common observer, it seems Judy Jacobs’ time at the helm could be at an end.
Someone wake up Tom Suozzi. It’s election night. Hello, has anyone seen our county executive?
He’s been the missing exec since Spitzer blitzed him in 06.
